Bowling sweater

My husband and I went antiquing briefly today.  We usually find ourselves doing it when we need a break from house work or his work (he works at home).  We went to one of my favorite antique malls called Robin and Wren.  I have a beautiful English wardrobe that we are guessing is from the 50's or 60's that I purchased there when they first opened.  I've purchased other miscellaneous treasures from there as well, but today my husband spotted a hand-knitted sweater that I fell in love with right away!  The sweater is made of thick, bulky wool or acrylic, and has a zipper in the front.  I have a feeling the sweater wasn't worn often because it is still in beautiful condition.  They had a matching men's sweater but my husband decided he probably wouldn't wear it very often.  Now I have to figure out how to style it.

Pretty Little Liars

So, I'm not a fan of the ABC Family Channel because they host the 700 club, and their shows tend to be preachy but I have a new guilty pleasure, "Pretty little Liars."  The show is on Tuesday nights and it follows the lives of four best friends in high school who share a lame secret, but it's supposed to be suspenseful.  This show is strictly eye candy for me, because of their clothes, accessories, and cosmetics.  Sometimes I don't even know what's going on because I am trying to figure out where I can buy the shoes one of the characters is wearing.

Anyway, through various fashion blogs and magazines, I've noticed that light blue nail polish is popular.   One of the most popular shades is "Minted," by Revlon.  I didn't know what to think about this shade of blue, let alone blue nail polish, but then I saw it on "Pretty Little Liars," on Aria's fingers and I decided that I had to have some. I couldn't find information on the website, but I decided to find a shade I would like.  I was tempted to buy "Minted," but I'm not a fan of drugstore nail polish.  I'm a little snobby when it comes to nail polish.  Today I went to Sephora and I noticed this shade of O.P.I for Sephora nail polish and I decided to try it.  I will enclose pictures after I polish my fingers but I wanted to get the word out.

I also love Aria's costumes the best.  The designers mix allot of vintage and new pieces, and it helps that she has a super-cute petite frame:)

Craft Room!!

Hey I though I would post some pictures of my craft room.  I've been obsessed with other people's blogs and the pictures of their craft rooms.  My favorite one is Thoughts from Alice, Alice's blog and designs are a total inspiration for me.  My craft room is very different from hers, however, because I like lot's of color.  Most of these pictures I took at night without a flash on my new camera.  I want to take some during the day, but my craft room faces a dark area, so I don't get allot of light in there anyway.

here's a picture with my sewing machine.  I just took the cover off for the picture- don't worry

a cute section of my desk.  I have antique post cards that I like to collect, and an antique porcelain lemon chotchkie that reminded me of a big one my grandparents had

here is my craft table with my big, ugly, vintage lamp that I love, and my train case full of craft supplies, and more vintage postcards

closer view.  I bought my lamp at this super-funky vintage art store in Lincoln city

here is my tacky yellow mirror that I bought at Goodwill, when it was a tacky gold mirror.  I like that shade of yellow because it reminds me of when I was a kid in the seventies and everything was yellow.  I realized that my craft room's color scheme is mostly yellow and green.  totally unintentional and nothing to do with the Oregon Ducks.

Turquoise

Hi!  I'm back after a holiday break.  The new year for me is always kind of blah but I just made some cute rings with vintage buttons.  I really like turquoise and I just found out that the Pantone color of the year is turquoise!  Some of my rings and past jewelery are made with vintage turquoise buttons.  Take a look on my Etsy!
